Spectacular on every visit, Switzerland’s capital Bern has many activities and attractions to keep visitors busy. Simply walking around the area where most embassies are located, you are taken into a path so green, covered with big trees accompanied by the sound of the Aare river that you forget you are in a city instead of a nature reserve. There is also the added attraction of Bern having it’s own Bear park (6,000 sqm!) and you have city + nature all in one day!
On a typical visit, I simply like to walk around the old town, enjoy the architecture and rich artwork that dot the streets. What never fails to impress is the Zytglogge, Bern’s astronomical clock from from the 16th century that still runs today!
Try to walk around the House of Parliament for spectacular views in their wraparound terrace. Then head towards the Cathedral and explore the small shops around it.
